Transit Crew
Preaching the eternal gospel of peace and love, Transit Crew’s roots
rock reggae brings together seasoned veterans Munyaradzi Nyemba,
Anthony ‘Liba’ Amon, and Samaita Zindi with talented younger members
Joshua Penga, Farai Kazembe, Jeffrey J, Farai Sithole, Rootsman Solo
Spice, and Emmanuel Mannex Motsi.
Formed in 1988, Transit Crew was one of the first bands to make an
impact on Zimbabwe’s local reggae scene. Over the course of their
twenty-year history, Transit Crew has performed in Zimbabwe, South
Africa, and Japan, alongside internationally renowned artists
including Culture, Dennis Brown, Ijahman Levi, Eric Donaldson, Misty
In Roots, and Lucky Dube.
Transit Crew’s latest release, “Unity,” features a variety of guest
artists, including hot new talents Hope Masike and Carmen Hwiriri on
vocals, as well as guitarist Mono Mukundu. Garnering rave reviews in
the local press, “Unity” has been described by one reviewers as
guaranteed to “thrill reggae lovers with the deep roots rock reggae
that made them a household name.”
