New Additions to Wide World Artists

Wide World Artists is proud to announce several new additions to its lineup of Zimbabwean stars: Bongo Love and Mathias Julius.  Both major names in Zimbabwean music, these new artists bring yet more diversity and excitement to the sweet sounds of Wide World Artists.

Bongo Love is arguably the most internationally acclaimed band to come out of  Zimbabwe in modern times.  After several major US tours (which included three sold-out Madison Square Garden performances with legendary rock group, Dispatch), the group has developed a major following in North America and Europe and is known for its distinct blend of traditional and popular sounds.

Multi-talented artist Mathias “Matty” Julius represents the very best of Zimbabwe’s young, urban music scene.  Blending reggae, dub, and hiphop influences, he brings a unique new sound to Wide World Artists’ roster of musical talents.

Partnership with Tariro: Hope and Health for Zimbabwe’s Orphans

Wide World Artists and Tariro: Hope and Health for Zimbabwe’s Orphans have officially joined forces for the upcoming release of ZImbabwe Today: New Music From Africa.  Wide World Artists will donate a portion of all proceeds from this exciting new compilation to Tariro, who will in turn offer a helping hand in the production and promotion of the album.

Founded in 2003, Tariro provides a comprehensive range of services for orphaned Zimbabwean girls, enabling them to complete a secondary school education. The organization currently sponsors over 50 girls, paying each student’s school fees, purchasing uniforms and supplies, and making textbooks available through a textbook lending library. Tariro also offers extra-curricular activities including academic tutoring, workshops in music, poetry, and art, and “Building Girls, Building Dreams,” an annual conference focused around empowering young women to achieve their full potential.
